Q: Kiva is non-binary, what does that mean?

🎓 Kiva’s gender corner 🎓

Hey all, it’s Kiva! Like the question says, I’m non-binary and use they/them pronouns which by default makes any wedding that involves me getting married queer!

You can talk about me as you might talk about the murderer whose gender we don’t know in a whodunnit mystery story. “I think the killer was in a hurry. They must’ve realized the victim saw them approaching.”

If interacting with trans people is something you that doesn’t feel like a normal, everyday thing to you, I recommend reading this short article from Teen Vogue.

Similarly, there are no good non-binary alternatives to bride/groom, so you can just refer to me by name or as “Emy’s partner” (or “Emy’s spouse” once applicable). If your brain freezes and you can’t remember how to use they/them pronouns, I definitely prefer she/her to he/him!

Q: Why are there different names for Emilia? Which one is right?

Family members will know the bride as Emilia, but with friends she is often known as Rose (her middle name) or by the nickname Emy. These are all correct names so feel free to use whichever one feels familiar to you!

Q: How do I RSVP?

Assuming you’re using the link we sent you, just click the “continue” button below or click the RSVP link at the top! If you aren’t, you can use the code from that same message on the RSVP page to log in 😀.

Q: Will there be a wedding registry?

Yep! We haven’t finished it yet but we will send an update when it’s ready to view.

For any other questions, please contact us at emy-and-kiva@protonmail.com and we will get back to you as soon as we can!
